Nursery
We are going to wait a few more weeks to take a video of the nursery, but in the meantime I will provide you with an update. Last weekend, Shawn and Cassie put up the wall decal that we bought online from a decal shop in Florida. Like every other "decoration" in this room, it was a bit of a process actually finding a decal and then deciding if it was the right thing for the room. The crazy thing is that we actually purchased this decal before we changed the room totally! It is a good thing that this decal still goes with the bew room decor because this was a non-refund purchase. The decal itself measures 60 inches long and about 30 inches wide. When they sent the decal they encouraged you to watch the video on their website about how to put it up on a wall and they sent practice decals. Clearly, this is not my cup of tea because patience is definitely not one of my virtues. So, this "hanging" project defaulted to Shawn and Cassie. It took them about 2 hours to put the decal up from start to finish, but it totally makes the room and I am in LOVE with it!!
Baby
Over the past 2 weeks or so I have been feeling A LOT of movement in my belly. It is very exciting and Shawn has actually been able to feel her kicking from the outside too!! She definitely has her times of more activity, like at night when I am trying to sleep. This past Friday she was particularly upset when I went to get a pedicure and I had the chair massaging my back. She kicked me for about 45 minutes.
Clothing/Accessory Purchases
I am sure that people are going to think I am crazy when I say that I have never been on Etsy before. However, I recently went on it after we had been searching for headbands and bows. It is quite addicting actually and I have purchased several crochet type headbands with removable clips for her to wear. The other thing that I have been looking for is any type of clothing, bib, etc. that says something about "my grandpa." My dad keeps seeing all of these clothes that we have gotten that say, "I love my Aunt, Grandma, etc." and he was like, "Why don't they have any grandpa type clothes for girls?" He actually has a very good point because you can find a lot of grandpa stuff for boys, but not girls. With that being said, I decided to get something personalized for him. As I was searching the internet, I came across a shirt that said, "Grandpa's fishing buddy." I immediately was like, oh my god, I have to get one made that says, "Grandpa's boating buddy." I found a website that made personlized onesies and had it made to say just that. It came in the mail yesterday and I was able to show it to my dad last night. He was all smiles and absolutely loves it!

5th Doctor's Appointment - 25 Weeks
I had my fifth doctor's appointment today and everything is still going very well! Her heartbeat was 156 and the doctor said that she is probably about 1 1/2 pounds (my Dad however believes that this just cannot be right). My blood pressure was great and my weight gain is right on track. The next time I go in I have to have the gestational diabetes sugar blood test. I have to drink that gross sugar water before I go and then they will take my blood. If I don't pass and my sugar is too high, then I have to go in for a 3 hour test. I do NOT want to have to do this, so I am crossing my fingers that I pass it the first time! I don't know when my next sonogram will be, but I can't want to see our little girl again!
Facts at 25 Weeks:
*She is the size of an eggplant!

Diaper Bag
Most of you know how much I like Coach bags and pretty much all of them I buy on sale at Belk, so I can get my discount, or from the outlet store. I have always said that when we have a baby I really want one of their diaper bags. Well, I knew that they were really expensive and honestly how practical would it really be? So, I have been looking at all kinds of diaper bags online and in any store that I go to that has them. I really haven't found one that I necessarily really liked. I also really want to be able to use the diaper bag as my purse as well, so I don't have to lug 2 different bags around. This past week I went on to Ebay and Coach's website to see what I could find. Of course, nothing was on sale, however Coach recently re-vamped their diaper bags to make them more user friendly and practical. For instance you can wipe down the entire inside, they put more pockets inside and outside of the bag. It comes with a changing pad and has 4 different pockets. The outside has been made with the same quality fabric that Coach is known for, but it has sort of like a repellent built into it (like scotch guard) that helps with spills, etc. This got me re-thinking about their diaper bags because I am not as afraid of something getting on/in it to ruin it. Anyway, I sort of still dismissed the idea in my head because of the cost. I love a great bargain and these are not a bargain. Yesterday, Shawn, Ashley and I went to Southpark to stop at Pottery Barn and to eat at Maggiano's for dinner. I looked in the Belk store to see if we sold them and we do not (boo!). As we were walking out of Belk, Shawn was like I bet the Coach store in the mall has them. I asked if we could go in and look because I really did want to see how big it was and touch/feel it. As I have learned recently, looking at things online and then getting them are sometimes 2 totally different things. So, we went in to the store and I am sure Shawn knew that he was in trouble before we even walked in. I asked the associate to see the diaper bags and she brought out the 3 different kinds that they had. Of course, I was in love. Shawn however, not so much. I was joking about how it could be my "push" present (if you haven't heard about this you need to look it up....quite funny actually). Then the associate came by to see if we had any questions and Ashley was like no, we are just trying to get her husband to say yes. The funny thing about this is that as some of you know, Southpark is quite the high end mall and I am sure that most people walk in and get whatever they want without thinking twice. After about 10 minutes, my wonderful husband said that I could get it. As we walked out of the store, I kept thinking about how much money I just spent and I never buy anything full price. This morning I woke up and I keep thinking about the practicality of it. I am going to have to think about it a bit more, but for now it will remain in the shopping bag in the nursery.
Sneak Peak into the nursery!
The past couple of weeks we have been consumed by figuring out the nursery. I would say that we are about 75% complete and hopefully by the end of this upcoming week we will be about 90% done. Shawn re-painted the nursery this past Thursday on his day off. He thought it would just take a few hours, but it took much, much longer than that! The problem he said was that the 2 colors were very similar and will both paint colors being semi-gloss it was really hard to tell where he had started and stopped. By the end of the day, it was all complete and I am absolutely in love with the color! We spent this weekend organizing what clothes and items we had accumulated thus far (thank you Ashley for helping me take the tags off, wash and fold everything) and adding decorative touches to the nursery. My dad came over and hung the chandelier and we exchanged the curtains....again! I feel like this is the story of my life with this nursery. We buy something, think it is going to work and then we end up returning it and buying something else. For example, these curtains. We found some great lavender curtains at Target that blocked out all of the light and had a neat dot design on them. However, once I got them home and ironed the creases out they just hung really weird. They were so thick and heavy due to the back paneling that they would not lay right and I knew that in the end they would drive me crazy! So, we headed back to Pottery Barn kids and got some of the curtains we had seen the week before. They were actually on sale and cheaper than the ones we had originally gotten at Target ($30 for both panels)! I ironed them this morning and hung them up and I am much, much happier with these.

The other thing we did this weekend was hang the chandelier. Well, Shawn and my dad hung the chandelier and like everything else about this room, they had some trouble with it. My dad had to work his magic and adjust some of the wiring, links, etc. It took about 2 1/2 hours to hang! We all had to admit though that it is super cute and really makes the room.

Our canvas pictures, that took like a week and a half to find online, should be coming in the mail on Wednesday and I am really excited to get those hung. My sister is coming home from college this next weekend and she is going to help Shawn put up the wall decal that we ordered. I am super excited to get this up because it is going to be a big focus of the room. The tree part itself measures about 60 inches in height and about 35 inches in width. It also has blossoms and butterflies that we will add. Once these other 2 things are done we are pretty much done with the "decorating" part. We will be ordering her name in block letters, but Shawn has said that we can absolutely NOT get them until I am 100% sure about the name! He is learning real quick that I have been super indecisive about everything in this room. Hey, at least we will have a great story to tell her! Here are a few more pictures of some of the things that we have gotten so far and I promise that I will post a video of the room once it is 100% complete.
