Most of you know how much I like Coach bags and pretty much all of them I buy on sale at Belk, so I can get my discount, or from the outlet store. I have always said that when we have a baby I really want one of their diaper bags. Well, I knew that they were really expensive and honestly how practical would it really be? So, I have been looking at all kinds of diaper bags online and in any store that I go to that has them. I really haven't found one that I necessarily really liked. I also really want to be able to use the diaper bag as my purse as well, so I don't have to lug 2 different bags around. This past week I went on to Ebay and Coach's website to see what I could find. Of course, nothing was on sale, however Coach recently re-vamped their diaper bags to make them more user friendly and practical. For instance you can wipe down the entire inside, they put more pockets inside and outside of the bag. It comes with a changing pad and has 4 different pockets. The outside has been made with the same quality fabric that Coach is known for, but it has sort of like a repellent built into it (like scotch guard) that helps with spills, etc. This got me re-thinking about their diaper bags because I am not as afraid of something getting on/in it to ruin it. Anyway, I sort of still dismissed the idea in my head because of the cost. I love a great bargain and these are not a bargain. Yesterday, Shawn, Ashley and I went to Southpark to stop at Pottery Barn and to eat at Maggiano's for dinner. I looked in the Belk store to see if we sold them and we do not (boo!). As we were walking out of Belk, Shawn was like I bet the Coach store in the mall has them. I asked if we could go in and look because I really did want to see how big it was and touch/feel it. As I have learned recently, looking at things online and then getting them are sometimes 2 totally different things. So, we went in to the store and I am sure Shawn knew that he was in trouble before we even walked in. I asked the associate to see the diaper bags and she brought out the 3 different kinds that they had. Of course, I was in love. Shawn however, not so much. I was joking about how it could be my "push" present (if you haven't heard about this you need to look it up....quite funny actually). Then the associate came by to see if we had any questions and Ashley was like no, we are just trying to get her husband to say yes. The funny thing about this is that as some of you know, Southpark is quite the high end mall and I am sure that most people walk in and get whatever they want without thinking twice. After about 10 minutes, my wonderful husband said that I could get it. As we walked out of the store, I kept thinking about how much money I just spent and I never buy anything full price. This morning I woke up and I keep thinking about the practicality of it. I am going to have to think about it a bit more, but for now it will remain in the shopping bag in the nursery.
